Simplifying the Aircraft Purchase Process
Our long list of aviation industry contacts, developed over decades in the business, is an excellent source of information on available aircraft. Often we learn about availability before a listing is made public. Either way, we go to work on your behalf following a time-tested methodology for ensuring you get the asset that is perfectly aligned with your mission profile. This includes:
We work with you to determine your overall budget, timing issues, and mission profile. We also talk with you about aircraft models that meet your criteria, help you obtain finance or lease proposals if appropriate, review anticipated transaction costs and fees, and determine whether a turnkey solution or a project aircraft is the right approach for you.
We provide a Conklin & de Decker and Aircraft Cost Evaluator cost of operation summary, performance information, market overview of your desired make and model, a year-to-date transaction report, and sales comps if available. We also conduct a worldwide search for the make and model, including contacting manufacturers, dealers, and brokers regarding possible trade-in aircraft.
Evaluation and Offer
We work with you to narrow the list to top candidates, provide ownership history summaries, coordinate demonstration flights, obtain maintenance or refurbishment quotes if applicable, provide market value analysis for the selected aircraft, and make a recommendation on offer terms. Then we draft a letter of intent, negotiate the best possible prices, review the aircraft purchase agreement, coordinate title company documentation, and consult with legal counsel as needed.
We obtain availability and a quote for a pre-purchase inspection, provide an equipment list to the inspection facility for verification, monitor the inspection process, review the inspection and test flight report and make recommendations, verify engine power-by-the-hour account status if applicable, negotiate the resolution of any inspection issues, and coordinate aircraft acceptance documentation.
Closing and Delivery
We help with preparation of the closing documentation, obtain a title search of the aircraft and engines, provide FAA title documentation, coordinate closing procedures with all parties, provide advice on any closing issues, consult with tax and legal counsel as needed, and coordinate aircraft delivery and documentation.
