Walt Wakefield
Walt Wakefield brings four decades of experience in executive aircraft brokerage to his role as Senior Vice President at Jeteffect, Inc. Based in Dallas, Texas. Walt has played a pivotal role in the company's rise as one of the industry’s most respected brokerage firms since joining in June 2004.
Walt began his career in 1981 as a Credit Analyst at Mercantile National Bank in Dallas, where he supported multiple loan departments. By age 24, he had been promoted to Bank Officer in the aircraft finance division, overseeing asset recovery operations. His transition to aircraft sales came in 1985 when he joined the international aircraft dealer and leasing company Jack Prewitt & Associates. Over a 13-year tenure, he established himself as a top-performing broker in the global marketplace.
From 1998 to 2001, Walt founded and led a highly successful executive aircraft brokerage division at Jet East, Inc., based at Love Field in Dallas. He later served as Vice President of the brokerage division for Jet Aviation in Zurich, Switzerland, from 2001 to 2004.
Throughout his 39-year career, Walt has represented clients in over 310 executive aircraft transactions across a wide range of models, including Boeing, Challenger, Gulfstream, Hawker, Falcon, Citation, King Air, and Learjet. He holds a Private Pilot’s License, Commercial, Instrument, and Multi-Engine ratings, which complement his deep technical expertise and firsthand aviation knowledge.
He has previously served as President and Treasurer of the National Aircraft Resale Association, now known as the International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA), and Chairman of AircraftExchange.com. He is a Certified IADA broker with in-depth understanding of tax strategy, contracts, and regulatory matters that further enhances the strategic value he provides to clients.
Walt earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in Economics from Southern Methodist University.
